In 2011, Scamp came to us at 12 years old with a slight heart murmur but remarkably fit for his age. His owners were relocating to Australia and it was felt that the upheaval would not be good for Scamp.
Last Sunday we had a Christmas market in the village where the shop is. All the shops and restaurants were open along with a visiting Santa’s grotto, jazz band and rides for the children. There was a great community atmosphere with over 3000 visitors. My shop was really busy (luckily Derek came with me), but the greatest draw was Scamp dressed up in his little red coat and Christmas collar with bells!
He has settled really well into his routine both at home and in the shop. He loves his daily walks, lazy days snoozing in his bed in the shop – getting up only when customers offer him some fuss which is usually followed by cries of ‘he’s so cute!’
Scamp has been really good in his new home – ignoring the cats, having a good night-time routine, is eating well, enjoying his walks and settling in well at his owner’s shop. Now, it seems, he is taking the decision as to where he wants to curl up for the evening, and he has chosen his mistress’ seat
