Well, whether it’s my imagination, but I don’t think so, but I think my dogs reacted less to the fireworks than on previous occasions. Spirit is usually particularly stressed by them, but this time, although she was aware of them she lay by my chair quietly all evening. Of course, she wouldn’t go “out” at bedtime, so John and I got up at 1am to let them all out, but other than that, no problem.
The Spaniels don’t care that much, Fin least of all, but I did expect some barking from Cyda. – Nothing!
The reason – Zylkene. I started them all about a month ago – except Fin who would quite happily go for a walk during the fireworks, and doesn’t react at all!!! I gave them their bedtime tablets at tea-time and honestly can say we had the best Bonfire Night ever. We closed all the windows and drew the blinds and curtains, turned the telly up, and that was it. If your experience wasn’t so good, think about Zylkene for next year.
You can also get Zylkene for cats.
