Did you know that most cats are intolerant to lactose (which are sugars in milk) & drinking cow’s milk may result in a tummy upset & diarrhoea. Nutritionally it is not necessary to give your cat milk, unless a kitten / growing cat or lactating queen.
Not all cats are lactose intolerant & a little milk as a treat may be fine, however if your cat is lactose intolerant you are risking a tummy upset. If you wish to give your cat milk, you can purchase special lactose free “cat milk” from your supermarket or pet store.
Fresh water should always be available to your cat. Some cats prefer to drink from running water eg a tap, and you can buy water fountains to provide an endless stream of water for them.
