Chaos Ensues at Heronbank

You know how it is.  You’re looking forward to a nice quiet evening when things go wrong.

Somehow the dogs broke out of the baby gate and ran out into the front garden to bark at a small dog who was minding his own business going for a walk.

The 3 spaniels all ran in different directions, and mindful of Fin’s allergies I called John to give me a hand to round them up again.   The 2 girls weren’t too much trouble, but Fin can be very stubborn and refused to come off the lawn (he’s allergic to grass pollen!)

I hit on the idea of fetching his lead – that usually does the trick!  In this circumstance, however the collar just refused to fasten and it was a few minutes before we managed to sort things.

Having been on grass, Fin now needed a bath – again!  He’s pretty good about his baths, in fairness, but there again he is currently on 3 per week.  After bathing and drying Fin, I noticed that Spirit was getting rather bushy and no doubt matted, what the Heck, I thought – and John kindly offered to help groom her.

She’s a big dog and had a lot of tangles.  After filling the waste bin with her hair we decided to call it a night – until tomorrow!
