I am often asked questions by dog owners regarding their pets.
Over the last 55 years, I have owned and trained my own dogs, and helped with the care and training of others’ dogs.
I have been breeding Pedigree Cavalier King Charles Spaniels for 35 years.
During this time I have gained experience in the many different facets of dog ownership – Care, Feeding, Grooming, Exercise, Training, Breeding and much more.
I am willing to share this knowledge with others and invite your questions.

Hi
I have a 4 month old King Charles. She is a happy, friendly dog and generally obedient however she just will not come to me when I call her. This is an ongoing problem and I am worried for her own safety as much as other dogs when we go for a walk. She just will not pay any attention to me when I call her. I have tried bribes of biscuits, tots etc but they haven’t worked. The other day as I was taking her lead off she ran off out the front door and would not come back. I was so worried and it only highlighted the importance of her coming to me when I call her. This is my first dog and I am in need of desperate help. Any advice you can give me is very gratefully received. Thank you
The secret is, do not let her off the lead until she has a good recall. Take her to a local dog training class where you will receive the basics of training an obedient dog to walk to heel on and off the lead, and to come when called in a safe manner.
Hope this helps
